A lot of people came out Glen Lake Chamber’s Annual Winter Fest event. There was very nice community support, especially with the extreme winter weather conditions…below zero wind chills, white out driving conditions, drifting, and constant snow fall. (see image gallery below…)
Perch Fishing Contest Results…
Despite the almost un-fishable winter conditions, 52 people participated in the ice-fishing contest, Raising $520 For Glen Lake. Scholarship fund. By far the worst conditions in the 18 years running the tournament.
Ken Fosmore took 1st place with a 11 7/8 in Perch;
Second place was Joseph, an 11 in. fish;
Third place was Tim Egeler with a 9 7/8 incher;
and Sam Shimek with 8 3/4 in. fish.
Chili Cook-Off Results…
There were 425 Attendees, with generous donations, we had over $5,000.00 in proceeds! Proceeds will given to the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce’s Glen Lake Scholarship Fund.
All but one Chili lasted, and the crowd gave up by about 2:45 pm.
Randy Chamberlain, Chef/Owner of Blu in Glen Arbor, with his son Logan took first place, by popular vote, with their Black bean-chorizo Chili topped with homemade frito’s. Their First win in 10 years….very proud!
The first time we’ve had The Homestead enter, taking 2nd place; Cherry Republic took 3rd, Anderson’s Market in Glen Arbor took 4th, and Bear Paw took 5th.
