The Glen Arbor Arts Center [formerly the Glen Arbor Art Association], serving the Glen Lake area in Leelanau County, offers year-round enriching art and entertainment with something for everyone.
The organization is a vital, active, multidimensional center for the arts. The GAAC offers a wide range of visual art classes and workshops that focus on skill building, art making, and offer many pathways into creativity. There’s something for all ages, and all stages. Art classes are offered for adults and children at all experience levels, taught by experienced instructors. New members, volunteers, and visitors are always welcome.
Performance is a big part of the GAAC’s offerings. The Manitou Music Festival, a series of summer concerts, features various musical genres in outdoor settings, including the renowned Dune Climb Concert in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Gallery exhibits, Paint Out events, Art History Talks, the Glen Arbor Players readers’ theater, and Talk About Art provide entertainment and enrichment all year long. The Artist-in- Residence Program offers two-week residencies from May to October, and provides visiting artists focused time for creative development, to enable them to concentrate on their work.
