Riverside Shakespeare performs “Measure for Measure” July 15, 7 p.m. at Studio Stage, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. Studio Stage is located behind Center Gallery at Lake Street Studios. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
“Measure for Measure” is a timeless tale about the struggle to discern appearance from reality. The Traverse City-based theater troupe takes the play out of Vienna and resets the story in ancient India, bringing with them the colors and costumes of that Asian country. The play’s main themes include justice, mercy and the dichotomy between corruption and purity. Or, as The Bard wrote: ” … (S)ome rise by sin, and some by virtue fall.” For more information please call 231/334-3179.
