The Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) celebrates Spring’s return with an art history talk exploring the Post-Impressionists on Thursday, May 11 at the Leelanau School, 1 Old Homestead Road, Glen Arbor. An optional Provençal-themed luncheon at blu restaurant is available.
GAAA’s popular art lecturer Linda Young and Randy Chamberlain, chef-owner of the Glen Arbor restaurant blu, will explore the art and lives of the Post-Impressionists. The art history talk will be complemented by a three-course luncheon at blu, 5705 S. Lake St., inspired by the Cézanne and the Provençal Table cookbook, and prepared by Chamberlain. Young’s talk will highlight the life and work of key Post-Impressionist artists including Paul Cézanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Georges Seurat, Paul Gauguin and Henri Rousseau. Participants choose either the morning/10:15 a.m. option or the afternoon/2 p.m. option. The cost for the lecture and lunch is $40/GAAA members, $55/non-members. Lecture-only fee is $15.
