Leelanau Focus: New Painting by Joe Stewart

The simplicity of old Leelanau farms and farm buildings combined with the peacefulness of the area’s preserved natural areas is the focus of painter Joe Stewart’s exhibition of new work opening July 8 at Center Gallery, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. An artist’s reception is 6-8 p.m. that night. A resident of Cincinnati, Stewart paints in oil, en plein air and in the studio. His new paintings are part of an ongoing series inspired by regular visits to Leelanau County.

Stewart will conduct a painting demonstration on Sunday, July 10, 1 p.m. The demonstration is open to the public.
