Join us for a special screening of the award-winning documentary film The Barn Raisers, on Friday, November 17 at 7:00 pm. The film explores the building methods, styles, and materials used to create these iconic structures, and the role these “country cathedrals” played in the settling and building of our country.
The event will be co-hosted by the Michigan Barn Preservation Network.
A Q&A session will follow the film. The evening will also include an update on the new Leelanau County Historic Preservation Society, and its efforts to save the Leelanau County Poor Farm Barn.
The program will take place at the Empire Township Hall, across the street from the library.
