Susan Crowell, a ceramics sculptor from Ann Arbor, Michigan, talks about her artist’s residency with the Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) Aug. 27, 7:30 p.m. at the GAAA, 6031 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.
Crowell combines her work in clay with her calling as a beekeeper. She has created a body of 3-D work that reflects her concern about the survival and wellbeing of pollinating insects. The University of Michigan instructor used her two-week GAAA residency to continue work on ceramic models of pollen that was initiated during a 2011 residency in Denmark.
As part of the AIR program, artists are asked to make a public presentation at the end of their residency. For more information, please all 231/334-6112 or visit the GAAA website to read about all the GAAA’s artist residents, glenarborart.org.
