After a year’s hiatus for construction, the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s Artist-in- Residence [AIR] program resumes in May. Ann Arbor resident Brenna K. Murphy is the GAAC’s first resident in 2018. During her residency, Murphy will create an installation honoring the memory of a late friend. This piece, which will be documented, is an extension of the work she has done toward her MFA at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art, and is inspired by the creation myth of the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Murphy will share highlights from her residency on Thursday, May 17, 7:30 pm at the GAAC, 6031 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. The presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, go to: GlenArborArt.org
