The Glen Arbor Art Association [GAAA] Readers’ Theater will hold auditions for “Remember The Night,”
This Readers’ Theater production offers roles for 4-6 men, 4-6 women, and other miscellaneous characters. Some roles may be cast regardless of gender. “Remember The Night” is a love story that starts in a court of law. It’s a heartwarming Christmas-time show that skillfully blends touching drama with comedy. Moved to pity by the Christmas season, New York District Attorney John Sargent lets pretty shoplifter Lee Leander out on bail and offers her a ride home to Indiana. They end up meeting each others’ parents, and then Cupid becomes judge and jury. The 1940’s film version was written by playwright Preston Sturges, who elevated the romantic, screwball comedy genre to new levels of intelligence and maturity; and starred Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck.
Readers’ Theater veteran Teddy House directs “Remember The Night.” Scripts are available to review at the GAAA offices during business hours. Digital scripts are now available.
The GAAA is open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information call 231/334-6112
