Leelanau Press Book Signing
Sunday July 10 at 1:00 p.m.
We are pleased to welcome the authors of the new books from Leelanau Press this summer.
Barbara Siepker will be on hand to sign her new book, Historic Cottages of Glen Lake: Revised Second Edition ($55.00) with photographs by Dietrich Floeter. This book offers a rare glimpse into the interiors of 60 historic Glen Lake summer cottages and the nostalgia enveloping them. The stories of the families that built on Glen Lake are recounted: where they came from, how they got here, where they stayed. They fell in love with the Glen Lake and the Dunes and sent down deep roots by building these now-historical family retreats. Three hundred and fifty photographs honor cottage lore and memories and take us on a walk back in time. Each cottage’s importance in the lives of its owners and to the community is celebrated, revealing the special sense of place and state of mind that only a lake cottage can evoke.
Also on hand to sign their new books:
Revered photographer Ken Scott and painter Kaye Krapohl trekked the entire 100 mile Lake Michigan Leelanau Peninsula shoreline. The first to accomplish and document this amazing feat, their two unique visions and spectacular artwork are now available in the new book Leelanau Trek: One Shoreline, Two Visions (45.00)
AND more favorite local haunts are captured by artist Hank Feeley in his second book Painting the Joy of Sleeping Bear Country. ($25.00). His fun, often insightful and whimsical paintings, make us smile. These last two books will be available in late June.
