Ohio artist Joseph Lombardo continues his study of Glen Arbor with a series of new paintings July 15-21, Center Gallery, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. The show opens with a public reception July 15 at 6 p.m.
Lombardo, an adjunct professor at Columbus College of Art and Design, first visited Glen Arbor in 2009 and executed the first of his Michigan-in-Summer paintings. Through this evolving group of oil paintings Lombardo explores the Leelanau landscape, light, and color as well as its houses, trees, bicycles, farm houses and night scenes.
As part of his exhibition, Lombardo conducts a demonstration at Center Gallery, July 17, 1 p.m. This demonstration is an opportunity to watch the artist work, and to talk with him about his process and technique. For more information please call 231/334-3179.
