Background: It all started when Kasson Freeman came to the area. He had a friend in Glen Arbor, Mr. Fisher. They had a picnic at this park to celebrate Mr. Fisher’s birthday in 1892. Everyone enjoyed the summer gathering so much that it turned into an annual event that’s been organized each year since!
