Ohio artist Joseph Lombardo exhibits new paintings of Glen Arbor, July 17-23, Center Gallery, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. The show opens with a public reception July 17 at 6 p.m.
Lombardo, an adjunct professor at Columbus College of Art and Design, first visited Glen Arbor in 2009 and executed the first of his Michigan-in-Summer series. Through this evolving group of oil paintings Lombardo is able to explore the Leelanau landscape, its light – both luminous and dappled — and the bright colors that characterize the region in summer.
As part of his exhibition, Lombardo conducts a demonstration at Center Gallery, July 18, 1 p.m. This demonstration is an opportunity to watch the artist work, and to talk with him about his process and technique. For more information please call 231/334-3179.
