Pianist/composer Jeff Haas is the next âTalk About Artâ interview April 8, 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA), 6031 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.
Haas, a Traverse City resident, has spent his adult life making music work. Heâs a classically trained pianist who has become the voice of jazz and blues in this region thanks to his long-running public radio program The New Jazz Archive, a weekly series that explores jazzâs place in the American story. His discography is long, and rich with collaborative partnerships, among them Marcus Belgrave and Laurie Sears. Haas will talk about a musicmaking and the ways in which he is using music-in-schools to bridge the gaps that lead to bullying and bias.
Talk About Art is a series of conversational interviews with regional artmakers. It is a winter project of the GAAA and focuses on creative practice, process and making as experienced by a range of visual and performing artists and craftspeople.
