The 3rd annual Memorial Ceremony at the historic Glen Arbor Cemetery, which we are in the midst of renovating, kicks off Memorial Day weekend at 10:00 a.m. sharp on Friday, May 27th. This year, we honor Civil War veteran Daniel Parker with a presentation by members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Norm Wheeler will play taps, and there’s a possibility that the Glen Lake eighth graders will share a little research on the people who were buried there. All that will be packed into about a half hour. Plan to stand, although we will have about a dozen chairs and the track chair, for those who need help getting to the site.
The entrance path to the cemetery is located on Forest Haven Road, precisely 4/10 of a mile south of M-109 right next to the very last house on the east side of the street. Allow 15 minutes to walk in and find a spot. Please do not block any driveways when you park. Dress for ticks and mosquitoes.
