'Sleeping Beauties' of Leelanau Exhibition

“Leelanau Lake Effect” comes to Center Gallery at Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. This series of oil and pastel paintings by Chicago artist Liz Wall opens June 27 with a 6 p.m. reception. The exhibition continues through July 3.

Wall’s painting begins in the field. The final works are part of her  “Sleeping Beauties” series, and will be accompanied by a map showing visitors where she painted or observed her subjects. Wall focuses both on the landscape as well as subjects that portray the harvest and “farm-to-table sensibility” that characterize local agriculture.
